Wesley joined Dixons Academies as a Newly Qualified Teacher in 2001 at Dixons City Academy. During his time at Dixons City, Wesley was Head of Humanities before becoming a Senior Teacher in 2009. In 2012, Wesley took on the role as Vice Principal at Dixons Trinity Academy. In this role, Wesley was instrumental in ensuring that behaviour and teaching were graded outstanding by Ofsted.
In 2014, Wesley became the founding Principal of Dixons McMillan Academy. Dixons McMillan Academy secured outstanding in all areas in 2017, a remarkable achievement considering the sixth form provision had only been open nine months.
In his Executive Principal role, Wesley now supports the leadership teams at both Dixons McMillan and Dixons Sixth Form Academy as well as supporting Trust wide projects and initiatives. He also represents Dixons on the local strategic behaviour and attendance network.
Wesley is a Theology and Sociology graduate from the Leeds University. Whilst at university he studied a variety of religions at university with a particular focus on Islam and the philosophy of religion. Wesley continues to teach Religious Studies at Dixons McMillan to A level standard. He has led various Religious Education networks, examined to A level standard, spoken at various conferences and been a guest lecturer on PGCE courses.
