A visit to Buckingham Palace

In May, Dixons Sixth Form student Uzayr Khan visited Buckingham Palace for the Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) gold award celebration event. Every young person who achieves their gold Duke of Edinburgh Award is invited to attend a celebration event at the royal palace, attended by a member of the royal family.

Uzayr is the first student from Dixons Sixth Form to achieve his gold award, so it was an even bigger cause for celebration. Uzayr was joined by Clive Nutton, Enrichment Coordinator.

Over 2,000 other gold completers attended and they got to enjoy tea and cupcakes in the gardens of the palace. A huge well done to Uzayr and thank you to Clive for all the work he does for the DofE students.
